<p class="abstract">Sphenoid sinus mucocele (SSM) is a benign, encapsulated, expansile, locally destructive mass within the sphenoid sinus, filled with mucous and lined by epithelium. The exact etiology of still not known. proximity SSM to orbit brain may cause morbidity potential mortality if left without intervention. has varied clinical manifestations. Headache visual disturbances are common symptoms. Diagnostic nasal endoscopy computed tomography (CT) scan and/or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) important pre-operative investigations. Diagnosis done nose paranasal which shows hypodense cystic lesion in sinus. MRI helpful detect extension cranium. Treatment surgical include endoscopic transnasal sphenoidotomy sufficient removal anterior inferior walls for allowing adequate drainage avoid recurrence. approach safe effective method treatment fewer recurrences than an open approach. Marsupialization via transsphenoidal another option good outcome. literature review was performed from database Pub Med, Medline, Scopus, Google scholar search term mucocele. Here, this article attempting discuss details including its history, epidemiology, etiopathology, presentations, investigations, current treatment. </p>
